Q80 Inspiration Is The Future Of Infiniti

The new Q80 Inspiration concept car that was revealed at the 2014 Paris Motor Show is such vehicle that portrays hints to what we should expect from future Infiniti models.

Set To Rival The Mercedes-Benz S-Class

In the car world, competition is what usually drives brands to always come up with the most beautiful designs and advanced traits in models, and Infiniti has its eyes on taking on the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The concept is supposed to serve as what a full-size luxury sedan under the Infiniti flagship can look like. According to rancois Bancon, Infiniti Vice President, Product Strategy, 'the Q80 Inspiration concept was born to disrupt the premium sedan category.' Its exterior features birdwing-shaped headlights, a roof and windshield that at first glance looks like a teardrop-shaped glass, and a boat-tail rear.

New Powertrain

The Q80 features a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 and an electric motor hybrid under the hoods that's said to push out 550 horsepower, with Infiniti mentioning that the powertrain will be available in the next two years and could do 43 mpg (although it's not revealed what kind of driving cycle their numbers are calculated on).

Other Futuristic Features

Other cool features that the concept sports is autonomous driving and separate HUDs for both the driver and the passenger via a smartphone connected to the vehicle's telematics system. Then, each of the rear passengers also has a touchscreen positioned in the rear of the front seat rest to tap into their on-board entertainment package. But it's not confirmed it both features will make it to the production vehicle.
