Hennessey Creates A Powerful Beast With Their 2015 Venom F5

An F5 tornado is seriously no joke. It's the most powerful classification given to tornadoes, so when Hennessey decided to name their 2015 Venom after one, they weren't kidding when they placed a destructive output of about 1,400 hp into their beast of a ride. The Venom alone was the fastest production car in the world, beating out Bugatti (who had that title for a while) and now they've outdone themselves with the Venom F5 that boasting the ability to hit a top speed that no other production car in the world has been able to attain, which John Hennessey says is in the '290-mph range.'

Containing all that power under the hood is a single-clutch, paddle-shift transmission, which replaced the Recardo, six-speed manual one that's found on the regular Venom GT (but you can opt for manual). Other new upgrades for the F5 include an all-carbon-fiber body to keep its curb weight under 2,866 lbs., which helps its power-to-weight ratio (the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport actually only returns 630 hp per ton and the F5 will shoot for 1,000 hp per ton, in comparison). The F5 will still share the Lotus platform as the GT, but looks quite different. Only 30 units will be made, which satisfies the Guinness Book of World Records' requirement to be the fastest production car in the world. And each will cost somewhere north of whopping $1.2 million price tags of its GT brother. Those lucky enough to afford one will be able to drive their own F5 tornado in 2016.
